The Discount Card allows you to automatically apply a percentage-based discount to each transaction when the customer uses their digital card. It’s fully customizable, supports upgradeable tiers based on spend, and integrates easily with your other loyalty tools like notifications and campaigns.

How It Works

Card Issuance
Customers receive a digital Discount Card when they join your loyalty program.
Discount Application
Each time the card is scanned or tapped, a percentage-based discount is applied instantly to the customer’s eligible purchase (e.g., 4%).
Tier Progression (Optional)
If you enable the Tier Program, customers automatically upgrade to a new discount card (e.g., from Silver to Gold) once they reach a specified spend threshold (e.g., €500). The new card can offer a higher discount (e.g., 8%) and different design.
This progression happens automatically in the background and can trigger a notification.

Creating a Discount Card in Loyaltify

1. Basic Information

Navigate to Loyalty Cards → click New Loyalty Card → enter:

Card Name: Assign a name to the card
Loyalty Card Type: Choose Discount

2. Appearance

Customize the design of your card:

Background Color or upload a Background Image (1140 × 435px recommended)
Choose a Text Color that’s visible and brand-aligned.
The Card Preview updates in real time on the right.

3. Discount Configuration

Discount rate: Specify the discount rate.

Advanced Settings

Click the Advanced Settings toggle to access optional settings and layout customization.

Card Expiration

Choose how long your loyalty card stays valid:

Selected Date: Expires on a chosen date (e.g., Dec 31, 2025)
Card Issue Date: Expires X days/months/years after card issuance

Layout Customization

Edit the card’s layout by customizing the header, left, and right fields:

Tier Program

Each tier (e.g., Bronze, Silver, Gold) must be created and designed as a separate card. Start by setting up the highest tier first—this allows you to link lower tiers by defining required amount needed to move up.

Once a customer reaches the required spend amount threshold, their digital card is automatically upgraded to the new tier, ensuring a seamless experience.
