Connecting your Mailchimp account to Loyaltify allows you to:

  • Sync customer data for targeted email campaigns.

  • Use Mailchimp's automation and segmentation tools.

  • Manage all communication efforts directly through Mailchimp.

This setup is essential for running email marketing campaigns in Loyaltify via Mailchimp.

How It Works

To use Mailchimp as your email provider in Loyaltify, you must connect your Mailchimp account using an API key. This key authorizes Loyaltify to send customer data to the Mailchimp audiance list.

Creating a Mailchimp Integration in Loyaltify

To set up the integration:

  1. Log in to your Mailchimp account.

  2. Click on your profile icon at the top-right (Step 1 in screenshot).

  3. Choose Account & billing from the dropdown (Step 2).

  4. Go to the Extras tab in the navigation (Step 3).

  5. Click API keys (Step 4).

  6. Scroll down to the Your API keys section.

  7. Click Create A Key (Step 5).

  8. Copy the generated API Key.

Then, in Loyaltify:

  1. Navigate to Integrations > Mailchimp.

  2. Paste the API Key into the API Key field.

  3. Click Connect.

Now Loyaltify customers are synced to your Mailchimp audiance list. You can send email and SMS marketing messages through the Mailchimp.

Customer Card Name Merge Tag (LYTFCNAME)

As part of the Mailchimp integration, Loyaltify automatically creates and syncs a Mailchimp Merge Tag called LYTFCNAME.

This Merge Tag pulls the Loyaltify Card Name assigned to each customer and makes it available inside Mailchimp for:

  • Personalised email content

  • Audience segmentation

  • Automated campaigns based on loyalty card type

Adding the Merge Tag (Required)

To sync the customer’s Loyaltify Card Name into Mailchimp, you must create a Merge Tag in your Mailchimp Audience.

  1. Go to Mailchimp Audience

  2. Click More options

  3. Select Audience fields and merge tags

  4. Click Create a new field

  5. Create a new field with the Merge Tag:

  • Merge Tag: LYTFCNAME

Once added, Loyaltify will automatically populate this field with each customer’s Card Name.

⚠️ Keep your API key confidential. If it is ever compromised, revoke and regenerate a new one in Mailchimp.
